Willum Richards says that it wasn't this Wm Richards who was one of the founders of the Average Adjusting profession in the City, it was actually his grandfather, also Wm Richards.

Wm Richards (1) company later became William Richards & Sons and then Richards Hogg International and now Richards Hogg Lindley and still exists today as part of the listed Charles Taylor Group. All the William Richards (apart from Willum Richard's son) as well as Basil and Melville Richards in the early days, worked for the firm - Willum left in 1998 (shortly after the sale to Charles Taylor).

William married Myra Daphne Patricia Bateman, daughter of Dr. Alfred George (pref.George) Bateman MRCS, MB, CM and Antonia 'Mona' Schwarz, on 9 Jan 1932. (Myra Daphne Patricia Bateman was born on 19 May 1906.)
