Joseph Lingard

  Notes:

1851 census (age 8) living with parents, uncle and siblings in Thornton le Moor, Lincs.

1861 census; can't really find, there is a 21 yo who is farm servant in Lincs, but not born in Thornton-le-Moor and ages obviously slightly out.

1871 census (age 28) is lodger at home of Charlotte Tindall at 16 Burton Road, St Peter In Eastage Parish, Lincoln, Lincs. Occupation is General Labourer. Also in house (but as visitor rather than lodger) is a John E Lingard (age 5) - is that his son? I think Joseph is showning as married.

1881 Census (age 38) living as Head at James Gate, Lincoln, Lincs. Is a widower and occupation is Labourer. There is also a housekeeper (Charlotte Briggs 42) and 4 lodgers (aged 10-20) - also all Briggs AND a grand-daughter (to Joseph Presumably) Florie Briggs, aged 4 born in Lincoln. So I'm completely confused by that !.

1891 Census (age 48) incorrectly indexed on ancestry as Linguard, although, in fairness, that is also what it says on the form. Is living alone (although says 'M'arried?) at 5 Curtis Row, Occupation is 'General Dealer, Shop'. Birthplace Thornton le Moor.

1901 Census; can't find.
