On October 23 1935 at the church of St Mary & All Souls, Beaconsfield, Frank Hastings Brooke, The Welch Regt. elder son of Col & Mrs.G.F.Brooke of West Byfleet to Helen Edith Mary ('Jo') daughter of the late Major R.Berkeley and Mrs.St.John Wright.

Major-General Frank Brooke CB, CBE, DSO ended up as General Officer Commanding the Federation Army in Malaya in 1956. Have his Times obit from Wendy.

ST JOHN WRIGHT on August 28 1971 in her sleep after a long illness at Westberry House, West Street, Selsey, Sussex (the home of her daughter Mrs.F.H.Brooke) Maud (nee Davidson) widow of Colonel A St.John Wright OBE and previously of Major R.E.G. Berkeley OBE. A gentle and beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Cremation private. A date of the internment will be announced later. (Wendy note; later interred St Wilfred's Chapel, Church Norton, nr Selsey Sep 9 1971).

Sept 04 1971; Funerals; St John Wright. The ashes of Maud St John Wright will be interred on Thurs Sept 9th at St Wilfrid's Church, Church Norton near Selsey, Sussex at 3:30pm. Cut flowers only, no mourning. If desired cars will meet the 1:02pm train from Victoria and connect London trains later that afternoon.

Maud married Lt.Col. Arthur St John Wright O.B.E., son of Dr. Christopher St John # Wright MB, FRCS, LSA and Agnes Louisa# Bateman, in 1935 in Simla, India. (Lt.Col. Arthur St John Wright O.B.E. was born Q2 1883 in Islington, London and died 6th May 1957 in British American Hospital, Madrid, Spain.)
