1841 Census; best match (age and location and children) from several possibles is; Thomas Blanchard (48, Ag Lab), Elizabeth (48), Joseph (10), Addam (8) and Charles (5) living in Linwood.

1851 Census; can't find.

1861 Census; Living, aged 27, as servant at house of Wm Stamp in Welton, Lincs. Occupation; General Servant. His brother Charles is also here. And there is a Wm Blanchard (9 born in Faldingham) who is nephew to Stamp. Stamp is Elizabeth Seaton's brother-in-law.

1871 Census (indexed as Blanthard); Living, aged 38 as 'nephew' at house of Wm Stamp (Farmer of 165 acres) in Welton, Lincs. Occupation; Farm Servant - Foreman.

1881 Census; Living, aged 49 as head at Low Field, Welton, Lincs with wife, 5 children and 4 servants inc Thomas Blanchard (his brother Joseph's son). Occupation; Farmer of 150 acres employing 3 men.

1891 Census; (indexed as 'Adan') living as head, aged 50, at East Barkwith, Lincs with wife and 2 children. Occupation; Gardener. Did he lose the farm? Was it rented?

1901 Census; Living as head, aged 68(?!?!) at Rasen Lane, Lincoln St Nicholas with wife and 2 dau and a boarder. Occupation; Jobbing Market Gardener.

Adam married Matilda Brackenbury on 1 Oct 1871 in Market Rasen, Lincs. (Matilda Brackenbury was born in 1841 in West Torrington, Lincs..)
