From the Blackford Book which says it doesn't know what become of the two elder dau (Helen and Eva). Elizabeth however went to live with her uncle the Revd James Senior, although she eventually went to New Zealand to visit her brothers and there she met Dilnot Sladden, who had been born in Kent, but was then working at her brothers Blackford Station.

They started their own farm but were ruined by a bad snowstorm in 1867. Then went to live in Oxford, Canterbury where they took up sawmilling as well as farming. They had 11 children, known as the Oxford Eleven !

In 1886 the family moved to Wellington, where Dilnot had been appointed Manager of the Wellington Canning Co., which he developed into the Wellington Meat Export Co Ltd, of which he was Secretary and General Manager until the time of his death in 1906.

Elizabeth married Dilnot Sladden on 8 Mar 1866 in St Mark's, Opawa, New Zealand. (Dilnot Sladden was born on 23 Mar 1842 in Ashford, Kent and died on 2 Sep 1906 in Sydney, Australia.)
