From Anthony Bateman; Trinder was Capt. Henry Trinder, a well known dowser who allegedly became a millionaire. Trinder was, perhaps, in the London Irish Rifles with Anthony's father. Harry Trinder was not divorced from Cecil, but from his first wife. He might have had 2 daughters from this first marriage.
His shipping company was Trinder Anderson - a Peter G. Trinder presented this company's records to the National Maritime Museum in 1984. Harry died sometime after WWII.

From Wendy H; Captain W H Trinder belonged to the British Society of Dowsers - lived most of live at a house called Latchmoor in Brockenhurst and later Hawling Manor, Andoversford, Glos. He gave a dowsing demonstration to Harry Price, famous for paranormal activities in particular the Rectory at Borley.


W. married Victorie Cecil Theodora Gabrielle 'Mina' Bateman, daughter of Dr. Alfred George (pref.George) Bateman MRCS, MB, CM and Antonia 'Mona' Schwarz. (Victorie Cecil Theodora Gabrielle 'Mina' Bateman was born on 5 Oct 1899 and died in 1980.)
