'Wigglesworth Manor' by G.Wigglesworth and D.Kaneps; A Chantry of Our Lady and St.Anne was founded at Long Preston Church by Sir Richard Hammerton in 1445, and this led to the dedication of the Hamerton Chapel. On the south side of the altar, where an arch is formed between the chapel and the sanctuary, is the tomb of the Hamerton family. At that time they lived in Hellifield in the peel tower there but it was within this parish. The memorial mentions Hamerton/Tempest - Hamerton/Asheton - Hamerton/Radcliffe - Hamerton Plumpton and Hamerton/Knoll/Arches is in the centre. Inscription appears to translate as "Pray for the souls of Laurence Hamerton Esquire of Isabella his wife of Richard his son knight of Elizabeth his wife as of al other benefactors of this chapel or chantry which was founded in perpetuity on the said obligation in the year of the Lord 1445".
