Horlick, C Esq, Painswick Gloucestershire was one of the subscribers to "The Histories and Antiquities of Shrewsbury" Vol 1 By Thomas Phillips, James Bowen, Charles Hulbert, pub 1837. Interestingly his brother-in-law Wm Powis of Wilmington Sq was also one of the subscribers. Presumably he was interested because there's a section that says "To the printer of the Shrewsbury Chronicle and his family, Mr de Courcy was most ardently attached. To a relative * of that family he address a letter of solemn council" The footnote to the * is 'Mr Samuel Horlick of Painswick, Gloucestershire'. Samuel Horlick must be our Samuel 1738-1778 ; his sister Mary Horlick married Thomas Wood.
Charles married Elizabeth Broom, daughter of John Broom and Unknown, on 10 Feb 1796 in Kidderminster, Worcs. (Elizabeth Broom was born in 1769 and died on 2 Sep 1826.)
