VERY easy to find the Gardam's in Kilnwick Percy - because hardly any entries in the register. This is presumably 'cos it's not really a village as such - just the Kilnwick Percy Estate. In the 1820s for example the population was 43! Presumably therefore they were estate employees. However hard to know what they were bricklaying for in that case - the house not built until 1845 and the church (St Helen's) until 1865, although there were earlier houses and also church - "St Helen's, which is located in the fields next to Kilnwick Percy Hall, was rebuilt in the 1860s and still contains original twelfth century stonework from the Norman church, which was based on the site. " also "Aerial photographs show the remains of a deserted hamlet near the church."
