Richard Freeman
- Marriage (1): Elizabeth Langton
Notes:
The Freeman/Langton's are not blood relatives to me. However The Priors Marston 'Mansion' came from this family, due to John Pirkins Wright's first wife (me being descended from his second) inheriting it. In the course of investigating the lawsuits and wills etc I have managed to piece together something about them, and it seems silly not to record it here ..... also it gives me somewhere to put Ahloaib and Elizabeth Bradshaw's wills !
According to an familysearch ancestor file he was ; Born; ~1707 on Whilton Chr 11 May 1677 (????!) Flore of Whilton, Namp Death; 14 Aug 1749 His father Richard and mother Elizabeth. First wife called Mary Corpson. Stopped here as they're not my blood relatives and details seem dubious anyway !
According to the same file had 11 children places mentioned inc. Flore, Daventry, Whilton(Warwicks), Buckby
Wilton Parish History; The Manor of Whilton; .... sold it in 1644 to Richard Freeman, of Whilton, from whom it descended to his grandson Richard Freeman esq, who bought several of the freehold estates originating in the sale of 1625. By virtue of a deed of settlement made in 1709, on his marriage to Elizabeth Langton, the manor devolved to her eldest son the Rev Langton Freeman, who devised it to his nephew, Thomas Freeman of Daventry, who dau carried it, in marriage to Charles Rattray, MD, his widow sold it. This parish is next to GUILSBOROUGH which is mention in one of the subsequent law suits. Also Rattray's mentioned in Ahloiab Bradshaw's will.
Richard married Elizabeth Langton.
