His children include Sir Hugh (created Baronet 1641 (extinct by 1688), MP for Scarborough, defended Scarborough Castle from the Parliamentary forces for 12 months), Sir Henry (lawyer of distinction) and, from his 2nd marriage, Sir Richard (Royalist Colonel).
