Bernard E Prichard married Madeline Vere Simmons (better known as Mollie) daughter of Michael Mendoza Simmons a prominent Jewish Business man and his wife Marie (nee Flick?) on March 1908.

Her father was the son of Abraham Simmons b ? died 25 October 1893. He was born 1857 in ?Australia and at the age of 29 started the “Mick Simmons Tobacco Box' Company with the tag line 'Can't B beat'. He died from 'flu in 1894. His widow remarried post 1901 R S Oliver. She died Sep 13 1937 Sydney.After his death the company continued to flourish branching out in other areas and is still going today as a famous sports equipment company.

1901 found his widow Marie age 39 in London at Langham Mansions Earls Court Sq London. She is of Independent means with birth place Australia. Also with her are Mathilde/Matilda age 21 Tobacconist Merchant/Employer born Aus.(later to become Mrs Govetti). Madeline 17 born Aus and Brixton age 14 born Brixton !.

There appear to be other siblings for Mollie - Samuel born 1873, Raphael, 1875 and Harold (Mendoza?) 1880.

1930 - Divorced her for adultery
1931 - Committed for trial charged with maliciously shooting at Roy Constantine Piggot, Fruit Merchant following being cited in Piggott divorce, Also arising from this shooting Piggot along with a Justice of the Peace!, a labourer and a private detective were charged with conspiracy to beat and ill treat Simmons. Simmons spent 10 days in hospital following attack.Following trial Simmons found not guilty..
1932 Piggott granted divorce and awarded £2000 damage from Simmons (had asked for £5k).
1932 As a result Simmons declared bankrupt.


Madeline married Lt.Cdr. Bernard Elliot Prichard R.N., son of Edward Ellison Prichard and Helen Maria Bateman, on 3 Mar 1908 in Hobart, Tasmania. (Lt.Cdr. Bernard Elliot Prichard R.N. was born on 3 Mar 1878 in Toleni, Transkei.)
