Her father was the son of Abraham Simmons b ? died 25 October 1893. He was born 1857 in ?Australia and at the age of 29 started the “Mick Simmons Tobacco Box' Company with the tag line 'Can't B beat'. He died from 'flu in 1894. His widow remarried post 1901 R S Oliver. She died Sep 13 1937 Sydney.After his death the company continued to flourish branching out in other areas and is still going today as a famous sports equipment company.

1928 - Married Mrs Berry May Lindsay (nee Campbell). 1930 - Divorced her for adultery 1931 - Committed for trial charged with maliciously shooting at Roy Constantine Piggot, Fruit Merchant following being cited in Piggott divorce, Also arising from this shooting Piggot along with a Justice of the Peace!, a labourer and a private detective were charged with conspiracy to beat and ill treat Simmons. Simmons spent 10 days in hospital following attack.Following trial Simmons found not guilty.. 1932 Piggott granted divorce and awarded £2000 damage from Simmons (had asked for £5k). 1932 As a result Simmons declared bankrupt.
