From James Maule "It is supposed by some, including John Maule, that George is a member of the Panmure family (tree 01), possibly a son of George Maule who was the son of Thomas Maule (1521-1600). The grandfather of Thomas Maule of Salem, Mass., appears to be a George Maule. Same fellow, different marriage? Some years ago, doing research at a library in England I came across 18th century correspondence between someone in the Kings Sutton family and someone in the Panmure family, which presupposed a connection. There are other stories also passed along to me. One clue, I think, involves Eltham, of which Patrick Maule was keeper. The parish records record Maule births but without providing the mother's name. So I cannot quite place those people, but I think they're closely related to the Panmures and perhaps the Kings Sutton and Salem, Mass. families. "
Familysearch; A George Maule born circa 1580 married a Margery Cropper? James Maule found; Georgius Mawle married Margeria Cropper 28 Nov 1605 Twyford, Buckinghamshire - if this is them there are presumably other children before 1615.
Probably he was a butcher; National Archives; (1693) "George Maule of Kings Sutton, Northants, butcher Messuage in Ludgershall in the tenure of Alice Burborowe, widow, with close of pasture " and (1693) "George Maule of Kings Sutton, butcher"
Although this http://racineshistoire.free.fr/LGN/PDF/Maule-GB&USA.pdf says he was a 'marin' (sailor), however James Maule believes this is an error, although there is a different George Maule who was a sailor.
George# married Margaret#.
