Marriages: MONK-WALLER on 8th instant at St Peter's Eaton Square by Rev John Storrs assisted by Rev Thomas Piggott ? of the bride, Richard Powis Monk 2nd Lancashire Fusiliers only surviving son of Richard Powis and MaryAnn Monk of Caenwood House Grove Road Balham to Maud Mary 2nd daughter of Charles Bullen Waller of Clarence House Clapham. Special licences issued as father had to give permission for marriage as she was a minor.

Also in Kelly's Directory of Devon 1902; 'List of the Principal Seats of Devon' there is an entry; Witheridge. Colleton ho. Capt Richard Powis Monk, see Chulmleigh. ?

And in Whitaker's Peerage, Baronetage, Knightage etc of 1925 (and various other places) there is reference to a Sir Thomas Heron, who married Ethel Mary, dau of Richard Powis Monk.

(Mil.), formerly Army Ordnance Dept.,. b. 1857 ; m. 1885, Ethel Mary, d. of Richard Powis Monk ; and has issue - (i) Gerard Odonel Heron, Esq., Barrister-at-Law, b. 1886 ; (2) George Christopher Hamilton Heron, Esq., Capt. R.A.O.C, formerly Lieut. 17th Lancers and 4th Hussars, b. 1897 [m. igzi, Edith Mary, d. of R. H. W. Johnston, .R.C.S., L.R.C.P. ; and has issue - Thomas Geoffrey Heron, Gentleman, b. 1921 ; and Barbara Joy]. Seat - Round Croft, Cheshunt, Herts. Club - Malta.

And a reference thus to "George Hudson, Sir Richard Ogilby and his trustees Richard Powis Monk and Thomas McBride" who are the owners of some land in Greenwich (The Forecourt of No 49 Thomas Street or Green's End) that looks like it's going to be compulsory purchased for road improvements.

Richard married Maud Mary Waller on 8 Nov 1877 in St.Peter's, Eaton Sq, London. (Maud Mary Waller was born on 9 Oct 1862 and died on 30 Nov 1942 in St.Sulpice, Switzerland.)
