Found Francis' original baptism in the N.Yorks CRO and this led me to Thomas fathers name. Specificially it said; "Francis Stephenson, son of Thomas Moorby of Settle son of Robert Moorby of Rathmell, by Ann his wife, daughter of William Stephenson of Arkholme".
Familyseach;
A Tommy Moorby was chr 1 Jul 1764 in Giggleswick, father Robert. I'm going to assume this is him for now. There are other Thomas Moorbys around correct time, but not with father Robert, so possibly this is him, and Rathmell would be Giggleswick Parish.
Looked for marriage and couldn't find. There was a marriage in Giggleswick, 17 Oct 1789 between Thomas Moorby and Ann Green, both of this parish. Witnesses were Henry Roberts and Mary Green. Possibly this is an earlier marriage, or she had been married before or, most likely, this is a different Thomas Moorby.
1841 Census; Can't find, but would be 77, so probably dead.
