Edward John Richard 'Dickie' Secker

From Ann G-P research, but she had him as 'Richard' but married to Vertue so must actually be Edward John Richard. Also originally had his third name as 'Shepherd'?

1911 Census; Living as grandson (age 8 months) at home of widowed grandmother at 20 Jameson Road, Bexhill with parents, sibling and 3 servants. PoB; Bangalore, India.

Wendy; Edward Secker and Margaret Vertue probably met on board ship on way to England from NZ in Nov 1939 as have found them on ancestry. He is down as Mr E Secker 1 Park Lane, W, Engineer and her address is Bernina, Goldaming.

Wendy also found piece in the Times from 1957 apparently Edward Secker stood as surety for a Robert Affleck Robertson who went on to be found guilty of embezzling money from his company of over £141,000. He had to surrender his passport to police and then it was discovered by Secker he had another forged one so Secker asked to be relived of his undertaking to stand bail of £5,000. Robertson was Australian and had served in the RAF during the war and got away with fraud before. Sentenced to seven years.

Edward married Margaret Vertue. (Margaret Vertue was born on 8 Sep 1912 and died in Aug 2004 in Chichester, Sussex.)
