Know for sure that he is Ann's brother as Atherton Powis is staying with him in '71 and listed as nephew.

1841 Census;presumably he is the John Foster living (next door to sister and her family) aged 30 in South East Side of Dorking, Surrey with wife and child. Occupation;'Ind'ependent means. There is a also a Charles Foster, 25, living in the house. But if this them then where is William John - a few possibles for him elsewhere, also why is he not a solicitor here?

1851 Census (age 43?) living in St Michael Stockwell Parish, Lambeth with wife and children and 1 servant. Occupation; Attourney & Solicitor

1861 Census; can't find him or any of his kids/wife.

1871 Census (age 63) living in St.Mark's Parish, Lambeth with wife, children, nephew (Atherton Powis) and 2 servants. Occupation; Solicitor.

1881 Census; can't find him or his wife.

John married Elizabeth Wilkinson Brown on 23 Sep 1834. (Elizabeth Wilkinson Brown was born on 29 Sep 1814 in St.Luke's, Middlesex, christened on 26 Dec 1814 in St.Luke's, Middlesex and died Q1 1875 in Kensington, London.)
