- Born: 1868, Settle, N.Yorks
- Marriage (1): George Friend on 16 Nov 1889 in Giggleswick Parish, N Yorks
Notes:
1871 census (age 3) was living with parents and siblings at Victoria Square, Settle.
1881 census (age 14) living with parents and siblings at Victoria Square, Settle. Occupation; hard to read; something in thread in cotton mill.
Could she been the Elizabeth JANE Moorby who was witness at wedding of John Moorby (her brother) and Louisa Bartlett in 1885?
1889 Marriage Record (found in N Yorks CRO) was 23, spinster, worked as 'Doubler', of Settle. Father given as William Moorby, Quarryman.
1891 Census; found a few possibles on ancestry including Elizabeth Ann Friend who had a Moorby as a lodger. Then found George Friend / Elizabeth Ann Moorby marriage on ancestry so; age 24, living with husband, child and lodger (James MOORBY, 21 Cotton Weaver) at 6 Watkinson(?) Street, Skipton. This James is presumably her brother (although just says lodger).
1901 Census (age 34) living with husband and children at 43 Castle St., Skipton.
Elizabeth married George Friend, son of Frederick Friend and Mary, on 16 Nov 1889 in Giggleswick Parish, N Yorks. (George Friend was born in 1868 in Boston Spa, Yorks.)
