Fanny Caborn
- Born: 1837, Croft, Lincs
- Marriage (1): Nicholas Talbot
- Died: 1917 aged 80
Notes:
Info from Ernest Caborn research, supplied by Catherine Atkin.
1841 Census; living, aged 3 in Partney with grandparents, father and aunts/uncles.
1841 Census (incorrectly indexed as Cabeen on ancestry) living aged 3 at Wainfleet Road, Skegness, Lincs. with mother and some siblings. Father staying at his parents on census night. Originally I thought she was the Fanny staying with Thomas at his parents house, but definately a Fanny in house with Jane of right age.
1851 census; not with parents.
1861 census (indexed as Catorn) living aged 23 as servant at the house of William Pernell (?) (Solicitor and Attourney), The something, Collegiate Crescent, Ecclesall Bierlow, Yorks. Occupation; House Servant.
1871 census; can't find as Caborn. If look for Talbot then found a Fanny Talbot but a) she born in Louth and b) he is Nathaniel, not Nicholas. But when I looked at the record they have a Mary Jane Harper CABORN, 10 living with them. So possibly it is; Living aged 33 at Lead Mill Road, Sheffield with husband and niece Mary Jane Harper Caborn, age 11, born Hull. The Hull Caborn branch (William) do have a daughter called Mary but a) she is with her parents in '71 census and b) not quite correct age. Have they got two daughters called Mary? Or maybe this is wrong Talbots? Ah; this Mary Jane looks like the same one as living with auntie Sarah in 1861 (aged 1), and wife Thomas Caborn (aged 21) in '81.
1881 Census; living, aged 43, at 163 Leadmill Lane, Sheffield with husband and 'General Servant'.
1891 Census; living, aged 53, at (Grocers Shop), 163 Leadmill Lane, Sheffield with husband and 'Servant Domestic'. Occupation; 'Bible Women'.
1901 Census; there is a Fanny Talbot born in Croft living with with a Nathaniel born in Notts, but ages don't match prior years - he is 60 (59 last time) and she 50 (53 last time). Also have magically appeared in Chapel St Leonards. Wife has unreadable occupation. Husband is 'Jobbing Gardener'. Odd.
Fanny married Nicholas Talbot.
