1871 Census; living, aged 12, at Coach & Horses Inn, Hemingby, Lincs with parents and siblings. Occupation; Scholar.

1881 Census; there is a John G Gant ~1860 living in Metheringham, Lincs, but he was also born there, so presumably not our John.
