Merchants at St.Neots.
Tomb in St.James'; Levitt Hedding 1741-1803 & his wife Elizabeth Haynes 1752-1828 and son Thomas, large tomb on the right, grandson of William & Elizabeth on the extreme left .
From Col Heading; Levitt was a Merchant and seemed to have money & property of his own, his father had been the Chemist at Biggleswade, but died reasonably young which meant Levitt Jnr inherited the Hedding Manor at Little Paxton not long before he died, it then passed to his eldest son William Levitt, who promptly sold it against the wishes of his ancestors who had decreed it be never mortgaged or sold. William Levett was a very wealthy young man who never married but he too died young and in his will he leaves money, quite a bit to the British Bible Society, which he and a couple of others had just set up.
Levitt married Elizabeth Haynes Outlaw, daughter of Thomas# Outlaw and Sarah# Underwood, on 22 Apr 1784 in Irthlingborough, Northants. (Elizabeth Haynes Outlaw was born in 1751, christened on 30 Nov 1751 in Irthlingborough, Northants, died in 1828 and was buried on 4 Mar 1828 in St James Church, Little Paxton, Huntingdonshire.)
