1891 Census; (age 43) is living as head at Park St., Towcester, Northants with wife, nephew (Harold WK Reel/Reed/Read, 25, G.P., born in Devon so presumably his family), and 2 servants. Occupation; Registered Medical General Practitioner.

1901 Census (incorrectly indexed as Xingcombe) is living age 53 as head at Park Rd, Towcester, Northants with wife, son, dau, niece (born in Devon so prem his family) and 2 servants. Occupation; Surgeon.

Have photo of his grave kindly sent by Alan Anthony. Reads;
Erected by his wife and two children in memory of Alfred A.Partridge Kingcombe. Surgeon of Towcester. Died at Wembury Point March 30th 1903. Aged 54 Years.
His son aged 24 L.Corp. H.E.Phipps Kingcombe, 9th Batt. A.I.F. landed at Gallipoli April 25th 1915, was wounded. Became instructor in Egypt. In March again joined 9th Batt. and was killed at Pozieres July 23rd and buried on the battlefield.

The Times, 1 Oct 1887
Mr A Partridge Kingcombe, MRCS, writes from Towcester Sep 29, "By way of a comment on the verdict of a jury at Kingstown and their censure of Lord Revelstoke, permit me gratefully to recall that my nephew and I, after being immersed for 2 hours off Plymouth, were saved in the evening of last Monday week from a then quite certain death, by the kind promptitude of his lordship, who instantly, on being informed of our situation, rushed his steamer at high pressure several miles to our rescue. Our preservation was, under God, entirely due to that kind haste"

London Gazette, 13th March 1903;
"NOTICE is hereby given, that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, Alfred Partridge Kingcombe, of Towcester, in the county of Northampton, M.R.C.S., and Charles Simpson, of Towcester aforesaid, M.B., carrying on the profession or business of Surgeons and Apothecaries at Towcester
aforesaid, under the style or firm of "KINGCOMBE AND SIMPSON," was on the 2nd day of "March, 1903,
dissolved by mutual consent, and that the profession, or business, will in future be carried on by the said
Charles Simpson.—Dated this seventh day of March, 1903. A. PARTRIDGE KINGSCOMBE, by Sarah Kingcombe, his Attorney. CHARLES SIMPSON.


Alfred married Sarah Phipps, daughter of Edward Phipps and Mary Elizabeth Sargeant, Q2 1890 in Towcester, Northants. (Sarah Phipps was born in 1857 in Preston Deanery, Peterborough, Northants.)
