Found wedding on IGI. Was 'of St John, Bedford' and says born about 1771, but this doesn't match gravestone.
Is also on Northants strays marriages;
SUMPTER Thomas Freeman of Irthlingborough Mary MONEY otp 1792 Bedford St. John, Beds

1841 Census; Living, aged 80, in the High St., Irthlingborough with her son (who is head) and a Maria MONEY and Mary Goddard - both are 20 and look like servants. Occupation; Widow !

Grave in Sumpter 'cluster' in St Peters, Irthlingborough;
Mary Sumpter (the wife of Thomas Freeman Sumpter). Who died xxxxx 18xx (presum ~1852), aged 81 years. Below this there was a chunk of text which started 'To the reader', but I didn't even try to decipher this. Immediately behind this grave is a tiny little stone which just says M.S. 1843.
Offical test from Irth MI's is ; 1.(Headstone with a rounded top and a footstone, on the headstone). This stone is erected to perpetuate the memory of MARY SUMPTER (relict of THOMAS FREEMAN SUMPTER) who died January 30th 1843 aged 81 years "Reader. (_____)" (the rest of the epitaph is illegible, on the footstone).

Later from Wendy; An original collection of extant epitaphs by Frederick Maiben 1870. He was a travelling salesman who noted particularly interesting ones gravestones. Don't know why he found this one interesting but he noted 'This stone is erected to perpetuate the memory of Mary Sumpter (relict of Thomas Freeman Sumpter) who died Jan 30 1843 aged 84 years'. Also found her death registered Q1 1843 Wellingborough.

There are other Money's mentioned in Stephen Sumpter's will.

Mary married Thomas Freeman Sumpter, son of John# Sumpter and Susanna# Scarborow/Scarborough, on 30 Aug 1792 in St John, Bedford. (Thomas Freeman Sumpter was born in 1761, christened on 24 Mar 1761 in Higham Ferrers, Northants and died on 9 Oct 1812.)
