'Wigglesworth Hall' by G.Wigglesworth; "Sometime before 1400 Adam of Hammerton married Kathrine de Knoll who brought considerable wealth and influence with her to the family when her father Elias, son of Reginald, transferred the manor of Wigglesworth to the Hammertons. Previously lords of Hammerton, they were now also lords of Knowlesmere, Wigglesworth and Hellifield. They left Hammerton and settled at Wigglesworth Hall and in 1436 Laurence Hamerton was licensed to keep a chaplain to sing Mass in his manor house at 'Wiklesworth'. An arched doorway to an outbuilding, opposite the entrance to the supposed 16th century house, remains today ...... Adam and Katherine had a son Richard and his marriage added the Manor of Langfield near Halifax to the estate, together with a third of the Manors of Rishworth, Bottomley, Barkisland and Scammonden in the area."
Adam# married Catherine/Katherine# de Knoll, daughter of Elias# de Knoll and Unknown. (Catherine/Katherine# de Knoll was born ~1336.)
