Her will; This is the last will and testament of me Elizabeth Langton Bradshaw of Priors Marston in the county of Warwick, Spinster wherein I mean to make a full and complete disposition of all my estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and not to die intestate as to any part thereof Whereas my late brother Aholiab Bradshaw xxx in and by his last will and testament write that he had xxxxx xxxarted and agreed with one Mrs. Teale(?) and others for the purchase of certain hereditaments situate and being in the parish of Priors Marston aforesaid and directed that the trustees named in the said will should complete the said purchase and xxx amongst other things devise for the same hereditaments unto me for life with remainder to his goddaughter Elizabeth Jane Vanderplank her heirs and assigns But in case it should happen that the said Elizabeth Jane Vanderplank should depart this life under the age of twenty one years without leaving lawful issue of her body the surviving or leaving such who should die under the age of twenty one years without lawful issue xxxx and in such case the said Testator devised the said hereditaments unto his godson David (Rattery?) and to his heirs and assigns and whereas a good and marketable title should not be made to the said hereditaments And whereas the said Elizabeth Jane Vanderplank hath attained the age of twenty one years now therefore I do hereby give and bequeath unto said Elizabeth Jane Vanderplank her executors administrators and assigns the sum of two thousand pounds to be paid by my executors hereafter named and I do hereby declare that the bequest by me made to the said Elizabeth Jane Vanderplank is and shall be in full satisfaction and discharge of the xxxbefore directed devise of my said late brother and of all or any claim or claims whatsoever which the said Elizabeth Jane Vanderplank her heirs executors administrators or assigns now have or hath or shall or may have to upon or out of the real personal estate of the said Aholiab Bradshaw deceased in respect or on account of the said estate devise(d?) in and by the said will of the said Aholiab Bradshaw I do thereby give and devise all that parcel of ground(?) railed(?) about(?) xxx Close situate in Priors Marston aforesaid unto Samuel Vanderplank of Long Buckby Gentleman his heirs and assigns for ever and I do hereby give and devise that my cottage and premises with the appurtenances situate near the Church Yard in Priors Marston aforesaid now in the occupation of my servant Thomas Smith unto the said Thomas Smith and Hannah his wife and the survivor of them his or her heirs and assigns I give and devise my godson Richard Marriot Freeman of Great James Street Bedford Row London his heirs and assigns my messuage and land with the appurtenances situate in the hamlet of Ascott (presum.Astcote) in the parish of Pattishall in the County of Northampton now or late in the tenure or occupation of Watson subject and xxxxxed with the payment of the following legacies namely to Charles(?) Stevens Noah Stevens Mary Ralphes(?) and Sofia(?) Raipers(?) equally I give unto the said Thomas Smith the sum of fifty pounds and in case of his death in my lifetime I give the same to his said wife Susannah Smith I give unto Mrs(?) Parkwood(?) of Priors Marston widow the sum of fifty pounds To xxxia Johnson(?) wife of xxxxxx Johnson of Northampton the sum of nineteen(?) guineas To Ann the wife of Edward Bowes(?) of Birmingham the sum of nineteen guineas To my old neighbour John Bolton of Priors Marston (SMGP: In 1848 JP Wright leases Ridgeway Farm in PM, formerly occupied by Miss Bradshaw, to a Robert Bolton of PM) and his wife or the survivor of them in case one of them shall die in my lifetime the sum of fifty pounds Also I give and bequeath unto Walter Watson of Priors Marston aforesaid for his faithful services the sum of four hundred pounds in case he shall be living at the time of my decease and in case he shall die in my lifetime then I direct my executors hereinafter named or other my personal representative or representatives for the time being to lay out and invest the sum of four hundred pounds in parliamentary stocks or other(?) public funds of Great Britain or at interest upon Government or real securities in England but not xxxxxxx and from time to time at their or his instruction to alter vary or transpose the same into or for other stocks funds and securities of the like nature and to pay the interest dividends and actual(?) profit of the same stocks funds and securities unto the present wife of the said Walter Watson during her life and after her decease to pay and divest the same xxxx sum or the stocks funds and securities in or upon which the same may have been laid out or invested unto and equally between all and every the children and relics of the said Walter Watson and his said wife share and share alike I give unto my old servant John Lambert the sum of fifty pounds and to my old servant Joseph xxxxx the sum of fifty pounds and the clock (or cloak) in my best xxxxx I bequest the said Susanna Risley to divide my evening apparel in such manner as she may think proper between the said Mary Raiper Catherine Stevens and the said Susannah the wife of the said Thomas Smith and the female servants who may be living with me at the time of my death I give to both the male and female servants who shall be living with me at the time of my decease a full years wages for the now currrent year and a suit of mourning I also desire mourning may be given to Hannah Smith Ann(?) the wife of Thomas Watts the widow Parkwood(?) Elizabeth Exxxman and Thomas Baker labourer And I further direct that all the said legacies or sums of money xxxxed or in my said estate at Ascott (presum.Astcote) aforesaid and the several other pecuniary and specific legacies xxxxbefore by me given and bequeathed may be paid and delivered to my respective legatees within twelve calendar months xxxx after my decease or as soon after as convenient and that all the several specific legacies may be delivered to the legatees thereof free of legacy duty and that such of the said legacies or sums of money xxxxed on my said estate at Ascott (presum.Astcote) aforesaid and of the said several others pecuniary legacies hereinbefore bequeathed as do not exceed in amount the sum of one hundred pounds may be paid to the several persons to xxxow the same and respectively bequeathed free of legacy duty And as to the rest reisude and remainder of my real and NEW PAGE personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever I give and devise and bequeath the same unto the said Richard Marriot Freeman his heirs executors administrators and assigns subject xxxxxxxess and do hereby charges the same with the payments of my just debts and such of the hereinbefore mentioned pecuniary legacies as are not charged on my said estate at Ascott (presum.Astcote) aforesaid the costs and charges of proving this my will and carrying(?) the same into execution and the legacy duties hereinbefore mentioned I direct that my executors do and shalll permit and suffer my said goddaughter Susanna Risley to look over all my xxxxx boxes and such other places wherein any of my papers and clothes(?) shall be at the time of my decease And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said William Cotton Rislay and Richard Marriot Freeman EXECUTORS of this my will hereby revoking all former wills by me made in witness whereof I have xxxxxxxto set my hand this sixteenth day of December(?) one thousand eight hundred and forty four.
