Notes:
Can't find birth record, but got 2nd name from bapt. Bapt record from Wendy; St Mary's, Lambeth, father's occupation listed as Clerk in Adjutant's General Office. Bapt 17 Jun 1847. Address; Clapham Rd. Only a few entries from several Powis' at same time, so the two families were worshipping in the same church.
1851 Census (indexed as Lyons); Living as dau (age 3) at Grafton Cottage, Lambeth with parents, 5 x sisters and 2 x servants.
1871 Census (Agnes H or A? Syms); Living as dau (age 23) at 250 Lo(or South) Lambeth Road, Lambeth, London with parents, 3xbrothers, sister and 2 servants.
Wedding record from Wendy; 27 June 1872 St Mary's Henry Seymour Hill widower, Gentleman, Lansdowne Rd, son of Edward Eustace Hill, Gentleman to Agnes Helena Syms d of Ed Griff Syms Clerk in War Office. Witnesses E G Syms Mary Augusta Hitchins
1881 Census (indx as HillS); Living as wife (age 33) at 81 Cambridge Road, Hammersmith with husband, 1xstepson, 1 x son, 2x dau and a servant. PoB South Lambeth.
1891 Census; Living as visitor (age 38?!?!) as (Agnes H Hepworth(sic)) with a whole group of other people at 33 and 35 Harrington(?) Road, Kensington. Looks like a hotel or huge boarding house. This may not be our person but shown as born in Clapham. Anyway the previous person is Richard Hepworth (29, Landscape Artist, also a visitor) and she is 'ditto' from him and the next two are Thomas K Hill (14, Hammersmith) and Charlotte A (12, Hammersmith) and over the page is Gladys M Hepworth (1, Kensington). Occupation is ; Secretary, Residential Clerk.
1901 Census; Still at 33&35 Harrington Rd, Kensington but now living as wife (age 50) with husband and son and 17 servants (!) Occupation; Secretary Residential. I would surmise that she is the Secretary at the previous property which, like '91, has lots of people in it, and the servants are for that institution which is a boarding house, but that property also has 6 servants, and, although large, doesn't look big enough to need a secretary. Having said that the Heyworth property also has loads of boarders inc a Barrister, Army Capt, Land Agent etc. One of them is a Helen M HILL, 40, Clapham, living on own means.
Agnes married Henry Seymour Hill on 27 Jun 1872 in St Mary's, Lambeth, London. (Henry Seymour Hill was born in 1836 in Greece and died Q2 1885 in Kensington, London.)
Agnes next married Richard Crawshay Heyworth Q4 1886 in Kensington, London. (Richard Crawshay Heyworth was born in 1862 in Newnham, Glos.)
