Ambrose married Mary Louisa Salmon Senior, daughter of Bernard Martin# Senior J.P. and Elizabeth# Sclanders, on 1 Sep 1869 in St.Mary's Church, St.Elizabeth, Jamaica. (Mary Louisa Salmon Senior was born on 17 Jun 1847 and was christened on 17 Oct 1847 in St Elizabeth, Jamaica.)
