Thomas# Perkins
Notes:
Confirmed by Colin Chapman. And primary backup evidence currently is; a.Cassandra was a witness at John's wedding. b.General family links and landholdings in Pattishall. c.Info on the back of 'the Priors Marston picture' which says “John Pirkins Wright was born 21st March 1820 at Pattishall Manor” ; this is factually correct (insofar as it was in the Manor of Pattishall) , but it wasn't the Manor Ho actually in Pattishall, but the one in Eastcote (presumably).
Thomas married Sarah Baron, one of two daughters of the Rev John Baron, who owned the Manors of Pattishall and Eastcote/ Eascott, so effectively they merged and became known, collectively, as Pattishall Manor.
Colin says that Thomas was the first resident Lord Of The Manor for several centuries (although some of the Baron links say that the Rev John actually died at Patttishall).
'T & S P' (Thomas and Sarah Perkins) is on the 1796 drainpipes of Eastcote House which is the house (now split into 3) to the immediate NW of the crossroads in Eastcote, the back of the house adjoins Pound Lane.
How Thomas became the Lord Of The Manor and acquired the property (or part thereof) is open to speculation. All the currently found information implies that he bought it (or a half share in it) in 1791 from his nephew John Baron Dickinson, if that is strictly true then a) where did he get the money from (perhaps Sarah had been left property elsewhere) ? and b) why was Anna Maria preferred over Sarah ? And later Thomas is described as being joint Lord of the Manor with Wm Flack ; his brother in law (via Juliana). It is also noticeable that on the Baron family history https://landedfamilies.blogspot.com/2020/02/405-baron-of-tregeare.html Anna Maria's marriage is noted, but Sarah's isnt.
The Howes (Anna Maria's family) were connected with 'Young's Charity' which was involved in running a school in the parish "and a conveyance of the estate to Mr Thomas Perkins of Pattishall and others, as the new trustees” ……and ……… “a close of three roods or thereabouts let by the trustees to Wm WRIGHT, as yearly tenant” and also Waites Charity ; executors Richard Howes and PICKERING PHIPPS …… to provide for the poor of Pattishall https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=HTZbAAAAQAAJ&pg=PA304&lpg=PA304&dq=%22thomas+perkins%22+pattishall&source=bl&ots=71pNvkI_9a&sig=ACfU3U2LAC22wm8BLtUEX9l8rAN4Thg22w&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi-sY3c47LuAhViRBUIHYhRDZQQ6AEwBHoECBAQAg#v=onepage&q=%22thomas%20perkins%22%20pattishall&f=false <https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=HTZbAAAAQAAJ&pg=PA304&lpg=PA304&dq=%22thomas+perkins%22+pattishall&source=bl&ots=71pNvkI_9a&sig=ACfU3U2LAC22wm8BLtUEX9l8rAN4Thg22w&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi-sY3c47LuAhViRBUIHYhRDZQQ6AEwBHoECBAQAg>
'Enclosure Records for Historians' by Steven Hollowell 2000 says (Pg 36) “There were also two manors : the larger of the two was held by the Dean and Chapter of Peterborough Cathedral and the other lordship was held jointly by Thomas PIRKINS of Eastcote in Northamptonshire and William FLACK of Ware in ...” unfortunately I can't see the whole context !
Thomas# married Sarah# Baron, daughter of Rev John Baron and Unknown.
