1861 census (age 2) living at Twiston Mill, Lancs with parents and siblings and 3 visitors.

1871 census (age 12) was living with parents and siblings at Victoria Square, Settle. Working as Labourer (carrying tools on the line)

1881 census (age 22) living with parents and siblings at Victoria Square, Settle. Occupation; General Labourer.

1891 Census; (age 32) Living at Poor House Yard, Albert Hill, Settle with wife, son and daughter. Was General Labourer. Presume dead by 1901 as children then living with Uncle.

1901 Census; (age 43) Living at Church Street, Giggleswick with wife and 5 children. Occupation; General Labourer. NB here is John Moorby JNR . Why? Eldest children John Thomas and Sarah are living with their Uncle.

NB: Born in Lancs, but brother was born in Settle in 1874, so presume whole family moved to Settle sometime between 1859 and 1874? But were there earlier as well. Also in 1891 census there is a William Moorby, aged 37 living in Settle who was born in Wary, Lancs.

John married Louisa Bartlett, daughter of James Peter Bartlett and A/Emelia Cooke, on 31 Jan 1885 in Giggleswick, Settle, N.Yorks. (Louisa Bartlett was born in 1866 in Stafford, Staffordshire and was christened on 12 Sep 1867 in St. Mary, Bilston, Stafford.)
