1891 Census (Age 5) living at 340 London Road, Croydon with parents and siblings.

1901 Census; living (age 15) in Hamble(?) Villa, Bridge Road, Worthing, East Sussex with mother and brother and sister.

in 1905 and 1906 fees for his education were paid by trustees of the Griffiths/Powis Wedding Settlement (unlike Cyril) it doesn't mention where he was tho.; was he at Framlingham like his brother ?

1908; Oswald Powis Griffiths played the Duke of Cumberland in the play ‘Beau Brocade’ at the Coronet Theatre London in Jun 1908 <http://theatrememorabilia.co.uk/london-coronet-theatre-beau-brocade-696.html>

1909 The Stage Year Book mentions a Mr.Oswald Griffiths (I think he was playing the Earl of Stretton).

Presumably he is the Oswald Powis Griffiths who got married in Q2 1910 in Hampstead, presumably to Frances Mary Titheradge - who is only other person on same page.
Could she be sister to the actress Margaret (Madge) Titheradge who did have a sister called Frances ??

... almost certainly she is as there is only 1 Frances Titheradge on the 1901 census.

Marriage cert; June 1910; His address is Bancroft, Mitten Road ! Father listed as 'Gent'. Witnesses; Charles Quartermaine (Google; an actor, appeared in some films, Madge Titheradge's husband) and 'Katie' (presum his mother Katherine) Griffiths.

1911 Cenus; Living (age 26) as a visitor at the home of his aunt Isabel Ann Brenchley (nee Powis) (Widow, 70, Surrey) at 115 Camberwell Grove, Camberwell, London with his wife Francis Mary (26, married 1 year, Melbourne, Aus). Shown as Oswald Powis Griffiths, 26, Actor, Ryde, IoW. Also in the house are 2 servants and a Mary Brenchley (54, Brighton) step dau of Isabel.

Appellant: Frances Mary Griffiths. Respondent: Oswald Powis Griffiths. Type: Wife's petition for restitution of conjugal rights [wrcr]. ! Held at Kew.

In 1923 document assigning him as joint executor of Emma Powis estate he is listed at 27 Whitehall Road, Thornton Heath (mothers address) and 'Gent'.

Have 1923 document where is raising a £100 mortage against his future inheritance under his parents marriage settlement.

1929; Granted probate over mothers will.

Nov 1933 (docs Re Hooker Edward Wix will) he was of 32 Highdown Road, Hove, Sussex

From Wendy; he left England for Lisbon Portugal 18 July 1939 - address in England was Glebe Cottage, Sedlescombe, Sussex (which is very near Battle/Bexhill) Country of intended permanent Residence is given as Portugal. (SMGP update ; Jun 1939 letter from Gladys Griffiths to a solicitor says "they are friends of his and as the woman he lived with has died there recently he was staying with them" ..... then (same file) a letter from Oswald at same address Jun 1939 saying he has "recently lost my wife". Oct 1939 letter from Gladys to solicitors saying Oswald used to live at Oxford Lodge A, Southdown Road, Shoreham by Sea. Later letter from occupant of of Glebe Cottage saying Oswald's address is Quinta Felize, Estrada-de-Galiza, Estoril, Portugal ....... then a bit later "since writing to you I have heard his present address is c/o Stuart Day, Open Gates, Parkway, Dairyfields, Trentham, Stoke On Trent" (and then letter from Oswald at same) ... and he's still there in Nov '39.

London Gazette June 1940 Welch Regiment; Acting Lance-Corporal Oswald Powis Griffiths (133885) to be Lieut 15 June 1940.

Have (Cyril Griffiths papers) Power of Attorney 15th Apr 1942 Oswald Powis Griffiths of HQ The Welch Regiment, Shrewsbury, a Captain in HM's Army (formerly of 27 Whitehall Road, Thornton Heath). Under the Emergency Provisions Act 1939 appointing his lawyers as PoA.
