Got wife's maiden name by finding wedding on familysearch.org This backed up by David Bee research on rootsweb.com, which also back up wifes maiden name.
1851 Census (age 9) living in Legsby, Lincs with parents and siblings. Also living in house are 2 x cousins Amos (13, labourer) and Thomas (age 4 perhaps) but difficult to read their surnames. Perhaps Crawshaw or similar. Occupation (he's 9!!) is Agricultural Labourer.
1861 Census (age 19) living at Linwood Lincs as Servant/Farm Labourer. NB; Is indexed in Blackard (the name of the family he's living with) on ancestry.co.uk , but is clearly Blanchard on the census form. NB: On same census his grandfather Thomas Blanchard is living 2 doors away.

1891 Census (age 49) living in Wragby Road, Panton, Horncastle, Lincs. Agricultural Labourer. Living with wife, son and a boarder (Mary, born in Sheffield, scholar).
1901 Census (age 59) living in Wragby, Panton, Lincs. with wife. Occupation; Ordinary (!?!) Farm Labourer.
No suitable death on free index unless died in Grimsby, which is not impossible.
