Had doubts which Charles Blanchard out of several possibilities. But this one living in West Barkwith (where Eliza Caborn comes from) in 1901 - 2 years before they got married, so 90% sure it's the correct person. In 1901 Eliza was living in East Barkwith. Also (later on) re-occurence on names Joseph and Robert.

Had as 1881, but David H says Sept 1880.

Feb 07; Got marriage cert. Confirms what I had. Specifically details are;
2 April 1903, The Parish Church, Thimbelby.
Charles Blanchard, 23, Bachelor, Labourer, Resident of Beighton, Derbyshire, Joseph Blanchard, Labourer.
Eliza Caborn, 22, Spinster, Servant, OTP, Thomas Caborn, Labourer.
Witnesses; Mary Norton (could this be his sister Rose Mary?) and Thomas Caborn (her father or brother, presum brother).

Can't find chr on familysearch.

1881 Census (indexed under Blanshaw on ancestry.co.uk) (age 6 months) living in Lissington, Lincs with parents and siblings.

1891 Census (age 10) living in Wragby Road, Panton with parents and a boarder.

1901 Census (age 20) living in West Barkwith in the house of John Betts (Farm Foreman). He is Waggoner on farm, and mentions 'and horse' or similar.

1911 Census (age 30, married 8 years) living Mr Nundy's Yard, Mareham le Hill, Horncastle with wife Eliza and sons Charles and Joseph. Occupation; Cowman.

1918; His profession on William Francis' birth certificate is 'Farm Shepherd'. Family were living at Mareham-on-the-Hill when William Francis was born.

1921 Census (Age40y9m) living at Mareham on the Hills,Lincs with Eliza and Joseph and Wm. PoB: Lissington. Occupation; Shepherd (working for a Mr Hurdman farmer of Mareham). Occupying 4 rooms. NB: Son Charles in also working for Mr.Hurdman, but is living with the Farm Foreman.

1928 he is in court as a witness to a fatal car accident (Along with Mr.Hurdman). "Charles Blanchard, shepherd to Mr Hurdman, said he was in the car and did not see the defendant until after the crash. He heard no hooters sounded."

Louth Standard 1936; was a coffin bearer at the funeral of Wm Baumber of Mareham,, shepherd to the late Mr.Hurdsman.


Have congratulations telegraph to William and Doris in Oct '41- presumably congrats on marriage. Is from 'Mother, Dad, Grace and John'. Not sure who Grace and John are ? Presumably he was still alive therefore in 1941.
