Found chr on IGI 30 May 1826, Much Dewchurch, parents Wm and Ann.

1841 Census (indexed as 'Hoddel'); Living, aged 14, at Gridal Farm, Clodock, Herefordshire with parents and 8 siblings and niece (Ann Brewer/Beavan, 3).

1851 Census; Living, aged 24 at Gridal (Farm), Longtown, Herefordshre with widowed mother and 3 siblings, 2 farm servants and 2 general servants. Occupation; Farmer's Son. PoB hard to read, could be Whitchurch or Much Dewchurch or similar - presum. Much Dewchurch as that's where sister Elizabeth born.

1861 Census (indexed as Hodell on ancestry) ; Unmarried, Living, age 34, at Grindall Farm, Longtown with widowed mother and 2 siblings and 4 farm servants (Livestock Servant, Carter, 2 x Carters Boys). Occupation; Partner in Farms (brother James occupation is 'Farmer of 325 acres') . PoB (clearly) Dewchurch.

1870 found marriage on ancestry, and IGI.

1871 Census; Living as head, aged 43, at Gridal Farm, Longtown with wife, dau, visitor (Julia Harris, 23, Unmarr, Farmers Dau, Longtown), 3 farm servants and a domestic servant. Occupation; Farmer of 320 acres.PoB Dewchurch. There is a family of Hoddell's headed by Philip (45, Longtown) next door. And sister Elizabeth also on same page.
