1841 Census (indexed as 'Hoddel'); Living, aged 11, at Gridal Farm, Clodock, Herefordshire with parents and 8 siblings and niece (Ann Brewer/Beavan, 3).

1851 Census; Living, aged 19 at Gridal (Farm), Longtown, Herefordshire with widowed mother and 3 siblings, 2 farm servants and 2 general servants. Occupation; Farmer's Son.

1861 Census; Living as lodger, aged 28 at St Julian Shrops. Occupation; Gardener. PoB is just 'Herefordshire' but pretty sure it's him.

1862 found marriage on ancestry.

1871 Census; Living as head, aged 40, at Penyland, Ewyas Harold, Herefordshire with wife and 5 children and 2 domestic servants and 2 farm servants. Occupation; Farmer of 172 acres employing 1 man and 2 boys.

1881 Census; Living as head, aged 50, at Old Garden, Garway, Herefordshire with wife and 9 children. Occupation; Farm Bailiff. 4yo child born in Ewyas Harold, 2 yo child born in Garway, so moved circa 1878.

1891 Welsh Census; Widower, living as head, aged 59, at Pontyirmisher(?) Farm, Machen, Monmouthshire with 6 children. Occupation; Farm Labourer.

George married Martha Jones Q1 1862 in Abergavenny. (Martha Jones was born in 1835 in Llanfair Kilgedin(?), Monmouthshire and died Q4 1884 in Cardiff, District, Glamorgan.)
