Notes:
1851 Census; Living, aged (6mo? hard to read), at Treflanden(?), Longtown with parents, aunt (Ann Brewer nee Hoddell) and 3 farm servants.
1861 Census; (Indexed as Proper); Living, aged 10 at Trelanam(?) Farm, Longtown with parents and brother and 2 farm servants. Occupation; Farmers Son.
1871 Census; Living, aged 20 at Trelandon Farm, Longtown with widowed mother, brother, aunt Eliza Hoddell and 2 cousins Mary (16) and Elizabeth (14) Prosser, both born in Grosmont, Monmouth, 2 farm servants and a domestic servant. Occupation; Farmer's son.
Probably married an Elizabeth Watkins in Q2 1880, Hereford district, but are a few other possibles.
1881 Census; Living as head, aged 30, at Trelander Farm (presum same as prior years as father dead and mother remarried), Longtown with wife and cousin (William Hoddell, 7, Scholar, born Clodock) and 3 farm and 1 domestic servant. Occupation; Farmer of 260 acres.
1891 Census; Living as head, aged 40, at Rowlstone Court, Rollstone, Herefordshire with wife and 6 children, 3 farm servants and a domestic servant. Occupation; Farmer. Presumably this is actually Rowlestone, Ewyas Harold (No distance from Powell's Platch Farm!).
Presumably he is the Wm Prosser, b~1851, who died Q4 1894 in Hereford District.
Wife has remarried by 1901.
"The Castle Mound at Rowlestone Court Farm is a site of antiquity, probably dating from the 12th century. It is thought to have been built during the anarchy of 1136 - 1154 A.D. It may have been one of the 1,114 illegal “anarchy castles” believed to have been demolished by Henry II (1154-1189 AD). There is no public right of way to the Castle Mound."
William married Elizabeth M. ~1880 in Date Guess To Get Marriages In Correct Order!. (Elizabeth M. was born in 1859 in Clodock, Herefordshire.)
