Marriage; John PERKINS of Pattishall Sarah LAWTON otp, widow 1796 15-Feb Bugbrooke. The marriage licence might give her true maiden name.
(Can't see any Lawton's in Bugbrooke in '41 census).
Probate; Name Sarah PIRKINS Year 1804 Status or Occupation - Place Pattishall County NTH Ref N Type W Series - Book or Box - No 14 Jun Fo or pg - Microform - Notes - ID PRO#2/010994
A Mrs Sarah Pirkins was buried in Pattishall 18 Apr 1803 - presumably this is her. Looked in CRO but no age given. A Joseph Pirkins buried 11 days later - son ? And a Sarah Pirkins (no Mrs) in 1806.
Northants FHS Library in Wellingborough; Sarah COLLINS of Upper Heyford married Benjamin Lawton, widower, of Upper Heyford 2 Apr 1781 by lic with Anne Norton and Wm RODDIS as witnesses. For some reason (in chaos I can't remember!) we decided she was probably the widow of John Collins of Kinsbury, who is listed as a Victualler in the 1777 Milita List. POSSIBLY this could give some tie-in with the John COLLI(n?)S PIRKINS in the Pattishall graveyard. Also there was a Mary COLLINS as a witness at John and Sarah's wedding. Also one of Wm Pirkins contracts mentions a RODDIS. So need to find the John Collins / Sarah marriage to find her maiden name (might it be RODDIS perhaps?). Was she REALLY married thrice ?
Sarah# married John# Perkins, son of Thomas# Perkins and Sarah# Baron, on 15 Feb 1796 in Bugbrooke, Northants. (John# Perkins was born ~1766, died on 28 Mar 1840 and was buried on 6 Apr 1840 in Pattishall, Northants.)
