1851 Census; Living, aged 42 in Askrigg with husband , 3 children, mother and a lodger (John Pedley, 24, Miner). PoB here is Thistlebout (mother says Gunnerside).
1861 Census; Living, aged 52, at Gate House, Carperby cum Thoresby, Yorks with husband and 3 children (but not Jacob jnr). Occupation; House wife. PoB here is Gunnerside, Yorks. Melbeck is a moor above Gunnerside.
1871 Census; Living as widow, aged 62, at Carperby cum Thoresby, Yorks with a visitor (Hannah Coates, 15, Scholar). Occupation; Formerly servant (Domestic). PoB Gunnerside.
1881 Census; Living as widow, aged 72, at Warren House,Askrigg with son and 5 grandchildren. Occupation; Laundress. PoB here is Melbeck, Yorks.
1891 Census; Living as widow, aged 84, at Carberby cum Thoresby, Yorks. Occupation; Lead Miner's widow. She appears to be living alone, although there is an odd blank line below her entry which looks like it has had someone at some point ?!?
There are several Ellen Sunter's (but no Eleanor's) dying in this period, but non with suitable YoB.
