Notes:
It is stated here http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=-18dAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA445&lpg=PA445&dq=%22rev+george+maule%22&source=web&ots=2FPk2J_FpA&sig=X0NtOV7EOVBg7puLQIlrko6yARA&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=3&ct=result#PPA445,M1 That "A younger brother of Mr Owen Manning possessed some landed property at Mears Ashby in that county; and his sister married the Rev George Maule, rector of Castle Ashby, in the same county, and died in Sept 1800, age 80, leaving two sons, John, rector of Greenford, Middlesex, and another a surgeon at Edmonton" ..... this seems to ignore the Thomas Maule shown on the family tree.?
Also The Correspondence of Edward Lye ; "Owen Manning was born at Orlingbury, Northamptonshire, where Lye had served briefly as a curate in 1719. His sister, Eleanor, was married to George Maule."
Manning ties in with the 'lunatic spinster' Eleanor Outlaw (nee Maule) was granted custody of in 1824.
Also confirmed by James Maule.
A couple of Eleanor Manning chr circa 1720 on familysearch but non appear to be the correct geographical area - ie both in Devon.
