Peter Brundenell Daniel Locke

Joined Dowty Equipment Ltd in 1942 as a service engineer, he was seconded to the Air Ministry in 1944 on special duties in South-East Asia Command, rejoining the company's export department after the war and becoming export manager in 1949. When Dowty Rotol was formed, his appointment as deputy sales manager extended his duties to the home market and he became in turn sales manager and commercial manager until 1963 when he was appointed to the board of Dowty Exports Ltd.

Godfather to Michael George-Powell (qv) who remembers being taken to the Farnborough Airshow by him and to the Dowty factory.

Bryan Bell-Syer reports "Doris married a LOCKE and her only child PETER, (now deceased) eventually became secretary and a director of the Society of British Aerospace Constructors (SBAC) being responsible for organising Farnborough airshows for some years. His only child is SIMON, an architect in Los Angeles."

Peter married Beryl Hunter Q3 1950 in Cheltenham, Glos.
