John Williams

  • Born: 1865, Clodock, Herefordshire

bullet  Notes:

1871 Census; age 6; living at grandfathers house at Great Blackhill, Craswall, Herefordshire with grandmother, father and mother and 2 siblings.

1881 English Census (Age 16) there is a Richard Williams, farm servant, born in Longtown who is servant at farm called CWM DULAS in Clodock, Longtown. Could well be him. Farm owned by GWILLIMS.
Nothing much on Welsh census

Following might be wrong; (ie not related!);

1891 English Census; There is a John Williams (27) living in Clapham, London with parents RICHARD and MARTHA and brother Alfred (ALBERT?). Occupation; Head Barman at Inn. All born in Herefordshire. But Alfred/Albert and Martha's ages don't match with prior years. John and Richards do.
On Welsh there is;
1.John Williams, 27, drapers assistant, living in St.Johns, Cardiff. Born in Longtown.
2.John Williams, 26, Haulier, living (as lodger) in Aberstruth, Monmouths. Born in St.Weonards.

1901 English; Incorrectly indexed as William. Same family as '91 - but now a) all shown as born in Clodock and b) Martha's age matches ... but now John's doesnt!. Alfred is still Alfred, maybe Albert died, going to enter thus. So; living in Lambeth, Brixton at 11 Popes Road (age 30) with parents, brother and Edith (13, granddaughter, born in Lambeth) and 4 lodgers. PoB; Clodock. Occupation; Waiter at Inn. Single.
