1851 English Census; age 5, living at Madeley, Wenlock, Shrops with parents and 2 siblings (Mary Ann who would be about 14, NOT there). PoB 'Flintshire, Chester'. Occupation; Scholar.
1864; Witness at wedding of sister Mary Ann to Thomas Grant in Welshpool.
1865; Death annoucement for Margaretta says she died at her brother house Lissant Street Edge-Hill, presumably this was him, although he'd only be 19ish.
1871 Census; age 25, living with in-laws and wife at 55 Ashurst, St Clements Parish, Lancs. This is actually Toxteth, West Derby, Liverpool and his parents are living close by - ie. two doors away ! Occupation unreadable.
NB There was a Margaret Annie Dax born and died in Q1 1873 West Derby. Presumably this was their first child; yes was ; address was Lissant Street (see Margaretta announcement ; same address).
1881 Census; age 35, living as head at 24 Dove Street, Toxteth Park, Liverpool with wife and children. Occupation; Chemists, Druggists (Manager). Possibly not same wife as PoB Different.
1891 Census; age 45, living as head at 24 Dove Street, Toxteth Park, Liverpool with wife and children. Occupation; Chem Druggists assistant (son Henry is apprentice ditto).
1901 Census; age 55, living in Toxteth with wife and children (Alice, Gertrude and Agnes). Occupation; Chemist Manager. From Wendy; Henry John Dax and family on 1901 census - Alice is now School Teacher, Gertrude Dressmaker and Agnes School Teacher. All three are still unmarried on 1911 census.
Toxteth Park Cemetry burial records; got his burial date, age 66, occupation not given, address 92 Garmoyle Street.
Henry married Anna/Annie Fletcher, daughter of James Fletcher and Hannah, Q4 1870 in West Derby, Liverpool, Lancs. (Anna/Annie Fletcher was born in 1843 in Limerick, Ireland or Derby.)
