Notes:
Next step; Get Thomas Walford's marriage cert. and see what brides fathers name is.
Got confirmation of suspicion about maiden name from Edward Salter Dax's birth cert.
1841 Welsh Census; living, aged 30, at The Malthouse, Aberhafesp Berriew, Montgomeryshire with husband and child (Edward). NB; next door is Mary Withers (65 - her mother) and an M.A.Dax (age 5/6/8) which I'm assuming is her dau.
1851 English Census; age 43, living at Madeley, Wenlock, Shrops with husband and 3 children (Mary Ann who would be about 14, NOT there). PoB again looks like Berriew.
1861 English Census; age 53, living at Ironbridge, Madeley, Wenlock, Shrops with husband and daughter (Margeretta). PoB hard to read, definately Montgomeryshire, could be Berriew. Looking at map is presumably Berriew, which is about 5 miles from Welshpool. If so this is same place that Thomas Walford's wife Anne was born.
1871 English Census; age 63, living at 57 Ashurst, St.Clements, Lancs with husband. Actually seems to be Toxteth Park, West Derby - which we now know as Liverpool.
Full Death Index search; found her eventually in Q2, 1876, was 69 at time of death. Burial date from Toxteth Park Cemetry website. 69 years old, widow, of 24 Dove St. ; this is son Henry's address in 1881.
Mary# married William# Dax, son of William# Dax and Sarah#. (William# Dax was born in 1807 in Welshpool, Montgomeryshire, christened on 7 May 1807 in Welshpool, Montgomeryshire and died Q1 1873 in West Derby, Liverpool, Lancs.)
