Wendy found the following consecutive baptismal registers for: Eleanor Powis born Nov 23 1802 bap 9 Aug 1803 St Mary Magalene Woolwich, d of William and Ann Powis William Horlick Powis July 10 1803 bap 9 Augt 1803 " " " " They were born < 8 months apart ?? 1841 Census; living (age 38) as head with wife and a servant at Malts/Walts/something Terrace, Peckham, St Giles Camberwell, London. Occupation; Solicitor. There is a 25 yo Eliza Powis living in a boarding house a few houses away.
1847; 'The Poll of Registered Electors for the Western Division of the County of Kent'; Blackheath District; Greenwich; Powis, William Horlick, 6 Wilmington Sq, Clerkenwell. In other words he was qualified to vote in Greenwich (presumably therefore he owned property there), even though he was living in Clerkenwell, at his late fathers former house. But he didn't actually vote for anyone.
1851 Census, living (age 47) as head at Monmouth Cl(ose?), (West) Greenwich, Kent. With wife and servant. Occupation; Solicitor. Is William H on here.
There is ANOTHER William H Powis, b ~1821 in Woolwich and married to Ester. In 1851 he is living in Plumstead, Kent..... he's a stoker at the Royal Arsenal, which doesn't really seem to fit in, but perhaps ...
