Can't find his birth on free index .... ah his birth is Frederic (no K). Auckland, Durham, Vol 10a, Pg 305 (will give mothers mdn name).

1881 Census; Presumably he is; Living, aged 5, at Warren House,Askrigg with father, grandmother and 4 siblings. Occupation; Scholar. PoB; Bishop Auckland.

1891 Census; Presumably he is; Living, aged 16, as servant at Plane Tree House, Cubeck, Bainbridge - house of George Metcalfe (farmer). Occupation Farm Servant, PoB; Bishop Auckland.

1901 Census; (Found it after tip off from John B); Living as Domestic Servant (or similar), single aged 26, at Kings Arms Hotel, PATELEY BRIDGE ! Says 'Fred Sunter'. Shows as born in Durham and then says something which isn't Bishop Auckland, might be Tow Law or similar .... actually it's Coundon, which is just E of BA. The King's Arm was closed in 1968 and is now David South's.
