Notes:
On her birth cert. father is not given. Mother is Barbara ('Finisher of Machine Knit Work'). Birth was informed by her gran, Nanny Dinsdale. However we believe that her father was Frederick Sunter, even though he didn't marry Barbara for a number of years, this also supported by Lena SUNTER Dinsdale.
1891 census; Was living, aged 1 in the house of her grandmother, Nanny Dinsdale (at Wesleyan Chapel, Buttersett, Gayle, Hawes) along with 2 of Nanny's daughters - Barbara and Mary Margaret - all born in Hawes. We now know that Barbara was Jane Ann's mother.
1901 census; Was living, aged 11, as Boarder in house of William Johnson at Middlegate, Hawes. Along with mother Barbara, her gran Nanny and her sister Mary M.
1911 Census (transcript only); Living (age 21) as stepdau (!) at High Street, Settle, with parents, daughter Lena, sister and a boarder John Walton. Occupation; Factory Doubler.
1914; At time of marriage (age 24) listed as 'Mill Hand' and as living at High Street, Settle. Father not given on wedding cert. Witnesses were Harold Kew (Tommy's brother) and Mary Dinsdale (who is presumably Jane Ann's sister, although theoretically it could also be her aunt).
1921 Cenus living (age 31y11m) at Bowskills Yard, Settle with husband and 3 children. Occupation; Home Duties. Occupying 3 rooms.

(John Thomas "Tommy"# Moorby was born on 4 Jul 1887 in Settle, N.Yorks, died on 20 Mar 1959 in 2 Howson's Yard, Settle, Yorkshire and was buried in Settle Parish Churchyard, Settle, N.Yorks.). The cause of his death was Coronary Thrombosis.
