Ashfield Lodge, Otley (as manager of the Lister's farm at Ashfield House). Heavily involved in Otley Ag Show ; which was held on the Lister land. DOESN'T get a mention in Mr.Lister's autobiography !

1931 Horncastle News; Mareham on the Hill. Sunday School Anniversary services were held at the Wesleyan Chapel .... those contributing were .... Wm Blanchard .... hidden treasure was won by Mr.J.Vickers and Mr.Wm Blanchard !

May 1933 Horncastle News; Wm Francis Blanchard of Mareham has entered Whit Monday Carnival King & Queen Contest! More the following week with a (poor) photo !

Sept 1946; Was witness at the wedding in Settle of William 'Billy' Moorby and Anne Gibson at Settle Registry Office.

Career; Prior to the war he had worked in a Sugar Beet factory in Lincs. This gave him breathing difficulties which meant he joined the War Ag in 1939 and moved to Yorkshire, as he could not join the military. Farmer/Farm Manager for majority of life at Howith Farm, Middle House Farm and Ashfield. Boilerman (part time in retirement)

William married Doris# Moorby, daughter of John Thomas "Tommy"# Moorby and Jane Ann# Dinsdale, on 11 Oct 1941 in Independence Chapel, Settle. (Doris# Moorby was born on 12 Aug 1922 in Bowskill Yard, Settle, N Yorks, died on 17 Apr 2001 in West Cumberland Hospital, Hensingham and was buried in Ashes scattered Settle, N.Yorks.). The cause of her death was Left venticular Failure, anterior myocardal infarction, acute renal failure.
