19th August 1842; Signed the Shakespeare's Birthplace visitors book - same day as her brother Henry Bateman. Was of Stratford on Avon.
Wendy found; London Gazette Aug 26 1843 Parnerships dissolved Elizabeth Auriol Lintott and Maria Bateman of Stratord Upon Avon Schoolmistresses
1851 Census; There is a Maria Bateman, unmarried, age 43, born in Burton living as visitor at home of Daniel Critchley in Macclesfield. Could be her?
1861 Census. There is a Maria Bateman, unmarried, age 52, born in Burton living as 'patient' at Tormoham, Devon. Occupation; Gentlewoman.
According to Henry Bateman biogs she "died at Torquay Jan 26th 1868 aged 59". This would tie in with the above two records. Also says she was "lame from birth".
