1841 Census; Living (age 16) as Ag Lab at Ewyas Harold, Herefordshire with Grandparents Jame and Mary Powell and a house servant.

1851 Census; Living as head (27) at the Dog Inn, Ewyas Harold, next door to his grandfather James at Dog Farm, with wife and 4 children, servant and a lodger. Occupation; Licenced Victualler.

" James Powell's son William (1799- 14/9/1873) can be found working as a miller in Abergavenny in the 1841-71 censuses. He married Sarah Underwood (1802 - 6/5/1881) on 16/5/1822 in Abergavenny. They had 7 children, including George, baptised 10/6/1823. This George is the one who moved back to Ewyas Harold to live with his Grandfather James."

"George married Betsey (later always called Elizabeth) Griffiths 8/6/1845 They had 4 children, including George, my direct line, born 16/4/1849. In the 1861 Census Elizabeth is recorded as a widow, living with one of her children (she later remarried)"

George and Betsey/Elizabeth had 4 Children:
Sarah (1846) = Thomas Lelliot in Sussex 1873.
Edwin (1848) = Mary Jane Gilbert 1880 (lived in Bacton to post 1901).
George# (1849 - 6/5/1927) = Maria Smith 22/8/1881 Brighton, Sussex.
Elizabeth (1851) = Frederick Pope.
George died prior to 1861 census (haven't found death record anywhere). Elizabeth remarried to a William Vizard in Abbey Dore 28/6/1877, and died there 14/1/1893.

George married Betsey 'Elizabeth' Griffiths on 8 Jul 1845 in Ewyas Harold Parish Church, Herefordshire. (Betsey 'Elizabeth' Griffiths was born ~1827 in Bacton, Herefordshire and died on 14 Jan 1893 in AbbeyDore, Herefordshire.)
