1891 Census (age 28) Living with parents and siblings and a visitor (Lilian M Wade) at No 43 Newland, Northampton St Sepulchre. NB: Now living at No.43 and No.41 is 'Offices' occupied by 3 servants. Unmarried.

1901 Census (age 37) Living 41 Newland, Northampton St Sepulchre with her widowed father and 3 unmarried sisters. Single. Also 3 servants (inc. a sick nurse).

In Northants CRO there are references (not investigated) to amateur theatricals in 1886 and 1888 by a Miss G Rands.


1902; Northampton Mercury; Wedding of Miss Rands ".......Gertrude Rands, of Northampton. The bridesmaids were Miss Lilian Rands (sister of the bride) and Miss Egan (sister the bridegroom). Mr. W. G. McCombie, of Highgate, N., acted best man, and the bride was given away by her brother, Mr. G. W. Rands. The ceremony, OF MISS RANDS. The wedding took place at the Roman Catholic Cathedral, Northampton, on Wednesday afternoon of Mr. Stephen Huntley Egan, of London, son of Mr. Stephen Martin Blake Egan, of Woocl- Galway. Ireland, and grandson of the Rev. James Webster Huntley, Ashmole (Northampton) and the Rev. Father Howlett (London). Appropriate wedding music was played by the organist. The bride's gown was of ivory crepe-de-chine, with garniture of lisse embroidery of' raised rose petals; transparent yoke, with veil of same, Marketsquare, Northampton. After the ceremony a reception was held at 41, Newland, the residence of the bride. Subsequently Mr. and Mrs. Egan left by the 3.38 train for Hastings The magnificent wedding cake was supplied by Messrs. W. and G. Buszard, of Oxford-street London W1"

From Wendy;Gertrude died Jan 25 1953. Left under £2000. Her address was Asham Park Hotel, Coulsden and she died at 2 Sydenham Road, Croydon. An Executor was Stephen William Huntley - occupation Paint Manufacturer Representative.

Gertrude married Stephen Huntley Egan in Nov 1902 in Roman Catholic Cathedral, Northampton. (Stephen Huntley Egan died on 6 Apr 1941 in St Mary's Nursing Home, Sunny Gardens, Hendon.)
