Got full name from finding birth on ancestry. Previously just 'Arthur H'. This actually says Eton district, but that is Slough.

1947 Letter Cyril Griffiths - Ann G-P "Arthur was the youngest of Uncle Charlies' brood. He had a job in advertising in the West End but he could stand the pace and contracted T.B. He spent a long time in Switzerland and came back much better. He married a lovely girl with smoky blue eyes named Mary Royle(?) and had one son, Roy. Both Arthur and Mary died a few years later; and I believe Roy, who did not contract TB, is now a married man with a family of this own. He kept in touch with his Aunt Mabel until she died the other day & so, I believe, did the afore-mentioned Geoffrey Crouchley".

1881 Census - incorrectly indexed as PowEs (age 11) living with mother, siblings, 2 of fathers cousins and a servant at 1 Ravensworth Ter, Fulham, Chelsea, London. Occupation; School Boy.

1891 Census - incorrectly indexed as Panis (age 21). Living in grandmothers house at 2 Mareboro(?) Road, Putney, London with parents, siblings and and 3 servants. Occupation "Living on own means"

1901 Census (age 32) living at 'Gwyncred' (? - next to Post Office/Rose Cottage) Pagham, Sussex with parents, visitor (Mildred M Houle 32) and 2 servants. Occupation; Manager something something Co.??!?

An Arthur Herbert Powis married in Q2 1902 in Lewisham. Presumably this is him. Wife is probably Alice Mary Royle, but could be Lavinia Mary Pinhey. Wendy later found match with Alice.

An Arthur Herbert Powis died in IoW in Q3 1909, b~1871 = match, near enough.

Arthur married Alice Mary Royle Q2 1902 in Lewisham, Kent. (Alice Mary Royle was born ~1880 and died on 25 Jan 1917 in Crowstone House School, Westcliff On Sea, Essex.)
